It's The End.

Supplies other then food and water have been fairly easy to come by outside, we just pick up anything we need from wildlife or looted stores. scraps have been some of the most useful items that i could find. I'm worried about my mom though, she never does anything besides sit inside and listen to the radio. You occasionally hear about how the cause of the plague was a "secret government program" or something of that kind. Just a bunch of hippie nonsense. You'll also hear reports of how far the plagues spread and unconfirmed rumors of it spreading more. It's scary to go to sleep at night not knowing what might happen during that night.

Power has been turning off and on lately we try to keep off most electric devices at all times. We started to cut down some of the trees in our backyard we already have a few of them curing at the moment. Winter is coming on fast so we've been trading some our stuff for food, mom already traded her car to the national guard for more rations. Since we live so close to the food distribution center in town I've been able to travel back and forth on bike without too much trouble. We have about 120 days worth of food (for two people) stored from our rations run, my mother had listed my brother as one of the residents. We haven't been stoking up too much of anything else. Every week I pick up our rations and our water, I've had to attach an old wagon to the back of my bike in order to carry the water though. My brother lives a bit up north, and has been using a fake I.D. for awhile now. He was originally a computer "genius" a.k.a nerd, Hes taken hold with a small group of bandits but I haven't talked to him for a few months now; and I'm not very sure if he's even alive. For the most part I have been looking after my mom, shes getting older and much more frail. I released my pet bird after the first few weeks, since we no longer could get his bird seed I didn't know what to do with him. I've been forced to carry my grandfather's WWII survival knife with me to scare off muggers and looters. Luckily it's still fairly sharp. Life's been fairly easy going though so far.

First Year of the End.
The plague is an extremely infectious disease that was somehow transferred from a dog to a human. It deteriorates your motor skills and your muscle eventually you will die. Death occurs after approximately 3 months about 99.9% of all that are infected. China's population was down to 60% of it's original state last time we heard anything about it; this was about a 7 months ago. The United States west coast was hit fairly hard, the government, or whats left of it in the west, has been trying to contain the pandemic by separating people into large "contaminated" colonies. No one enters, no one leaves. On the east coast people started human right riots, then after a couple of months they started to settle down; most of them had realized the plague had already spread into some area's of their own states. NY was a major food supplier to the east for the past couple of months we haven't heard anything from them lately though. The government has started to disperse due to mobs attacking stealing, murdering and in some cases plundering things from their state. Not too much from the outside world has been heard, all we know is most of Asia, Europe and the northern area of Africa has been infected. I live in Connecticut, I was lucky the plague hasn't hit here very hard yet. We've been forced to blockade our coastline and our state border with the national guard. The plague has been controlled in CT for now, but there have been some cases of it reported. People have been fending for themselves living off of stockpiled food that we bought in the beginning. Now we're three days in to the second year of the Apocalypse.

The plague erupts all over Asia causing mass chaos in the area. America starts to receive the plague through the west coast its slowly spreading and quarantine areas have been established. The plague has no cure. Food supplies have been cut due to some government programs. anarchy has been persistent throughout the States.
